Teen Titans: Ashes and Blood Roleplay Discussion

So we've been texting, PMing, getting on the chatbox and pretty much rebooting old ideas and making them fresh again for what seems to be the last week or so. I present to you Teen Titans: Dark Days Ashes and Blood. I'm really excited and really ambitious about starting up some roleplaying again, and I'm sure everyone reading this is as well. I was happy to just start talking about it. Anyway, I feel ready to start expositioning on the stage of the roleplay.

Plot

It's party time on the Planet of Tamaran, the Celebration of Tobeckpliz only comes once every 5000 Morflarks (however long that is...) and the Titans seize the opportunity to partake in the once in a life time event. One problem, the trip will last them nine Earth months. Wanting to branch out, Robin recruits new Titans to the team, and will have them watch over the city as well as Titans Tower. As villains become aware that the Teen Titans left, they quickly take advantage of this fact. Still, sometimes it's better to have the Devil you know than the Devil you don't.

Character Sheets and New Ideas

Character sheets are open! Just in case you don't know, I am currently in the progress of a lot of different things involving this roleplay, so some character sheets may appear midgame IN-thread, for cameo appearnaces and villain entrances. But I want everyone else's main character sheets here. If you plan on having a surprise cameo appearance, you can PM me about it. I am looking to have a very colorful roster of villains and heroes.

Just as another new feature we're testing out, GM control. As the GM I will post matter of fact conditions, characters will need sleep, will need to eat, and will get fatigued. So I will post in Green letting you know what condition your characters are in, then you can post around that. So if I say you're in a fight and someone throws a flash grenade, I will post Your character has been blinded and deafened. You post around that until I post Your character regains sight and sound. I know it's a little unorthadox, but it's so we don't have any god modding, like a character throws a flash grenade and then it doesn't affect them in the slightest.

We all should know general rules by now, we've all been doing this for years. Unless someone new happens to join, I'd say let's discuss! If anyone has any ideas for anything at all, let me know.

Abilities

Flight
With a wingspan more than twice his size, Jotis can take off with little effort, despite his 200lbs build and 100lbs armor. He can maneuver more freely, dip, and glide faster than the average jet. He's had explicit training with his wings, making him deadly in the air as well as the ground. 

Advanced Sword Tactics
Being trained for the last twelve Earth years in swordsmanship, Jotis can hold his own both offensive and defensively. His training is akin to that of the Spartans. 

Above Average Intelligence 
Having not finished all of his training in the Thanagarian military, 
He doesn't have the super mind that most Thanagarians have. His intelligence is still high above average, great at decision making, problem solving, taking orders, and leadership. 


Personal Traits

Alien Physiology
Jotis is Thanagarian, he ages slower than humans, is stronger, faster, more durable, and can generally take more punishment than humans. He also possesses enhanced vision, greater than that of a normal human. 

Natural Patriot
When it comes to his home, he is a belligerent patriot. He can even be unreasonable, to the point where what he could be saying doesn't make sense, as long as what matters is protecting the integrity of Thanagar. 

Short Tempered
Because of his patriotism, he developed a short temper. He is a by the books, no nonsense man, who doesn't take joking or fooling around lightly. If he were in a situation where he would constantly be pushed over the edge, he will hurt you without hesitation, nor remorse. 

Hero Persona 
Jotis can come off as big headed, mostly because he's usually the strongest in any given group he's been in, even on Thanagar. He feels the need to protect others on his team, even if they may not need it, just to feed his ego. 

Tools

Nth Metal Sword
Enchanted Nth Metal broadsword, he uses two hands to wield the blade properly. The sword can produce jolts of lightning. 

Thanagarian Weaved Armor
Weaved armor differs from chainmail where chainmail are links, weaved armor are individual plates for better movement than a single piece, made out of Nth metal. It negates magic properties and is tougher than Titanium. It surrounds his whole body. It weighs 75lbs. 

Thanagarian Gauntlets and Boots
Weighing at 5lbs a piece, the gaunlets are designed if he were to drop his sword, he can still fight. By causing friction his his gauntlets, he can create an electrical current for offensive attacks.

Thanagarian Helmet
Also made from Nth Metal, at a total of 5lbs, the helmet covers all sides of Jotis' head. It can double as a weapon if worst comes to worst because of it's sharp sides and spiked crown. It will be uncomfortable to wield though. 


Origin

Returning from an espionage mission, Jotis Karr was passing Earth when his ship was shot down by a Gordanian Craft, despite the fact he had been cloaked. Stranded and assumed dead, with no way to contact anyone outside to help him out and the primitive technology to do so, he decided to make the best of his situation. There was plenty of life and mysteries on Earth. Settling in, he knew he had an interesting time ahead of him. 

It wasn't long after that he was involving himself in stopping crimes around the world. Most were for the fun or the thrill of it, he worked alone for most of the time. A hero here, a villain there, he started becoming attached to this new surrogate world. It wasn't long until the Teen Titans approached him for his help.

Attitude: Easygoing and good natured, ready with a sarcastic quip for most situations.

Attire:
Head: a pair of thickly tinted black goggles conceal and protect his eyes [unlike previous incarnations, the goggles are purely cosmetic, and serve little utility beyond looking cool]
Torso: A skintight black body shirt that offers a light amount of protection, with silver accents. Worn under a long black and silver jacket.
Arms: his forearms are covered by a par of black and silver gloves, resistant to basic friction and punctures.
Lower body: sturdy black and silver cargo pants, offering a light level of protection.
Legs: Sturdy black boots, offering a decent level of protection for his feet and lower legs.

Abilities (metahuman):
Telekinesis: He has a competent mastery of his own telekinetic abilities, which can be used to levitate and throw objects, and throw kinetic force blasts. He also has perfected an ability to re- direct bullets with his powers, but can be overwhelmed by significant force or if already exhausted.
Perceptive skill: He can detect especially powerful emotions in his vicinity, such as hatred or fear. However, stronger telepaths or individuals with experience dealing with telepaths may be able to block this.
Mind reading: Via direct skin-to-skin contact, he can peer into the minds of others. However, use of this ability is very taxing on him and can push him into breakdown very quickly.
Healing: he has a limited ability to heal others, but this is limited to only what the individual’s body would naturally heal- for example, he can’t re- grow a severed body part or cure paralysis [as nerves don’t grow back once severed]

Abilities (physical and mental):
Conditioning: Zero is in good physical shape, and doesn’t easily exhaust his body.
Training: While he prefers the use of his powers, he is quite capable of holding his own in a fistfight against the average goon. However, he is far from an expert and is not on the level of someone like Jotis.

Weaknesses:
Exhaustion: while in good shape, he has no extra special reserves of energy or superhuman physiology and his body will eventually tire out, and is therefore also prone to drowning, suffocation, ect.
Breakdown: Over- use of his powers will cause him to become mentally tired and inefficient, with added use furthering this condition and eventually wearing down his body as well.
Meltdown: In an extreme emotional state or an intense level of breakdown, he can have a meltdown where he looses utter control of his powers and can manifest abilities he normally can’t use, such as teleporting. In this state, he is no longer in a logical state of mind and will lash out at anything and everything until he either calms down, is forcibly incapacitated, or is rendered un-conscious by sheer exhaustion. It was in this state that he warped to Jump city and catastrophically damaged his memories.

Biography:
Born as one of a pair of twins to a Markovian soldier and American spy, Matthew’s family was unique from the start. His parents were originally freedom fighters in the third world war, and afterwards they just couldn’t let it go- spending their time tracking down war criminals that they felt got off too easy. However, they inevitably quieted down after the birth of the twins. But when a particularly nasty criminal re- surfaced, they just couldn’t let it go. Matthew, sixteen at the time, personally joined his parents in hunting the man down.

However, things went awry quickly- their quarry was waiting for them, and in the ensuing firefight, Matthew saw his father cut down in front of him. With his powers exploding out of control, Matthew’s own power tore the area asunder. However, the bodies of Matthew, his father, and their target were never found…

(Only information from here on is information that Matthew is actively aware of)
His powers had whisked him away to Jump city, a location rich with superhuman activity. However, the damage was done- his powers had drawn such a toll on his body, that he now suffered amnesia. Discovered quickly by Karmy, he found her a kindred spirit, and the two rapidly became friends. The two quickly became well known as their own special variety of crime fighters, and it’s just a matter of time before their achievements are noticed…

Attitude: Friendly and fun- loving, but can also come off as neurotic at times. When he is engrossed in a task, he will ignore virtually all else until he’s finished, as he takes a unique level of pride in his work.

Attire:
Head: Wears a technical headset to issue commands to his computers from a long distance. In the field, he wears a dark green mask as well.
Torso: Wears a tight green bodysuit in the field. Since he has no metaphysical abilities, it has been made to resist slashing, fire and low impact bullets.
Arms: his gloves are packed with special interfaces and sensors linked into his computer network. He has a pair of pods that house his wrisblades on his arms and his gloves are capable of producing an electrical charge to use as a tazer.
Lower Body: Padded and protected trousers protect his legs from injury, offering the same range of safety as his body armor. Deep pockets are filled with computer spikes and other toys.
Legs: Padded boots offer protection to his legs and feet, as well as cushion his footsteps to avoid detection.

Abilities (mental and gadgets)
Tech prodigy: He has an incredibly deep knowledge of computers, and even advanced programs and technology are often putty in his hands, learning new tech skills with ease. He can hack advanced systems, as well as design his own gadgets.
The toys: He has several gadgets at his disposal, including hologram projectors, signal jammers, and his suit is loaded with special scanners, sensors, and computer interfaces.
Big Rig: His custom made computer is cutting edge, capable of making even difficult hacks look easy.

Abilities (physical)
Sneak: By no means a physical fighter, Sparky prefers to avoid detection and find other ways to sabotage his enemies’ plans and is rather good at being stealthy, especially with his arsenal of gadgetry to aid him.

Weaknesses:
Tech Dependence: Separated from his gadgets and gizmos, he’s not much of a real threat.
Physical: Perhaps the least threatening fighter in the team, he doesn’t stand a very big chance against a mob or someone of a higher level alone. His gadgets can incapacitate or disorient enemies, but he has little in forms of combat weaponry.

Bio:
Born to a struggling family in a slum outside of Metropolis, Sparky discovered his love of machines when he found an old, discarded computer in a junkyard and tinkered with it. Afterwards, he applied himself to studying computers and machines, and found himself a hidden talent. He moved on to blow everyone away at the state science fair, and even caught the attention of Lex Luthor himself, whom offered the boy a job as soon as he turned sixteen.
For a while, all seemed well- working for Lex was very lucrative, and he quickly found himself rising out of the slums with his family. But sadly, it was not to last- Lex was so impressed that he transferred Sparky to a different project- the design and creation of his newest battle suit. While Sparky was reluctant, when Lex began to make promises that he’d never go hungry again, as well as his family, he simply couldn’t say no.
But when he saw his treasured inventions on the primetime news, mixing it up with the Justice league, he was overwhelmed by personal disgust. Quickly taking his leave of Lexcorp by fabricating a story and falsifying records of having sick family in Jump city he needed to leave and take care of, he made sure his family was well off, then made tracks for Jump city, to try and rectify his perceived wrongdoings, whatever ways he can.

Abilities

Portal Creation
By clapping her hands and gesturing, Karma can create a warp zone on a flat surface. By clapping again, she can open up a portal between space. She must have a clear path, if something or someone is in the way she cannot create the warp zone. She can create 20 warp zones or 10 portals before she has to recharge. Recharging takes one hour and cannot stack warp zones. The first warp zone is useless without the second. She can hold smaller portals open for longer periods of time.

Hand to Hand
Simple self defense and offense taught by Zero

Personal Traits:
Fairly laid back, down to earth gal. Loves a good joke but when it comes down to business, keeps her head in the game. That doesn't mean she won't openly insult a villain.

Tools:
Two police batons used for close combat. Each one has 5 electrical charges and it takes 5 minutes to recharge them. She keeps 2 extra battery packs on her belt for emergencies.


Origin

With her mind recently being erased, there's not much Karma remembers from before she met Zero. Together they forged a bond and became a super powered duo force for good. Eventually, their works were recognized by the Teen Titans and were asked to watch over the tower and in turn, the city.

Skin: Ashen burgundy

Hair: Uneven, choppy black. Long in the front, short in the back.

Attire

Clothing: Tizmael wears an oversized, dull-gray tunic; with long sleeves that go down well past her wrists to obscure all but her fingers. Her legs are bare except for the soot colored skin-tight leggings that stop just above her knee. Her head and throat are covered by a red, scarf/long-tailed cap combination that is hastily stitched in some places. There are two buttoned holes for her horns to poke out of.



Gear



Trick Bag: A plain, canvas rucksack full of various odds and ends that might prove fatal (or at least distracting) to enemies and allies alike. The following list contain the contents of said bag.




  • Capsaicin pellets: small, dangerous gas bombs that when thrown burst into an aerosolized explosion of the compound Capsaicin. This causes a burning sensation in any and all mucous membranes it comes into contact with (eyes, nose ect ect ect…). When skin is exposed to it, it can also burn. The main effect is lasting, intense pain that is hard to remove due to the waxy nature of capsaicin.
  • Small folding Athame: a 4” Luciferian dagger in the form of a switchblade. It can be used as a regular dagger and as a means to perform Demonic Rituals.
  • Talisman of Belial: a pendant that allows Tizmael to commune with  the demon, Belial.
  • Common Smoke Pellets: Used for quick getaways if fighting is too inconvenient or dangerous.
  • Collapsible Cattle Prod: A tazer at the end of a 34” rod.
  • Glock 20 10mm pistol: double action,  4.6" handgun that fires 15 rounds.





Abilities



Super Strength: Though by no means a physical threat to most other demons, or those who have super-human endurance; Tizmael is much stronger than an average human. Able to bend metal objects easily, lift up to 400 pounds and break bones.



Demon Endurance: In hell, pain is pleasure. Tizmael is a product of that culture and thus has a tendency to enjoy pain up to a point. Punches, kicks, bruises, cuts and gun shots are all tolerated with a modicum of glee and heal easily. Major injuries are avoided however; as she is still young and stems from a particularly delicate (in demon standards) breed of demon. Fire and heat do not affect her in any way.



Demon’s Breath: Tizmael can breathe a 10’ stream of fire from her mouth and nose; this is a common trait amongst demons from Masak Madvil (A vast trench in the pits of Hell). Due to her youth and low-breeding she can only maintain this for a minute.



Sense Motive/ Alignment: Demons and Angels are very attuned to their respective alignments. While Angels can sense goodness and lawfulness, demons can sense evil and chaos. Both celestial and infernal beings have a sense of what motivates a person (especially humans) and when they are lying or telling the truth. Tizmael is no different and can feel the evil inside people, as well as being fairly decent at guessing their intentions or bluffs.



Flight Mode: Like most demons, Tizmael  can sprout two bat-like wings for flight. Unfortunately, hers are not properly sized and are too fragile to sustain real flight. She can glide from place to place fairly well, though she can only maintain lift for a dozen yards before she grows tired and plummets. This mode is practically useless unless she is using her wings as an intimidation tactic; which is surprisingly useful when done towards pious or superstitious victims.



Weaknesses

Tizmael is a small, young demon. She is disadvantaged against her own kind and especially against Angels and other celestial beings. She could be easily subdued or smote if she made no attempt to avoid such beings. Tizmael is also easily affected by magic, be it spells to hurt or to control her; she would need spells or items of her own to protect her from such attacks.

Tizmael is a demon who influences the Christian, Catholic and Jewish faiths, thusly she is hurt by artifacts or incantations meant to combat demons from these religions. This includes holy water, cold iron and crucifixes or other holy symbols; though the later is only dangerous to her if they are being used offensively.



The Pit-born can be physically killed (sent back to Hell), and it would take her a long time to manifest and return to the mortal plane. Too much bodily damage can also lay her low as it would any other mortal being. This includes broken bones, injuries to organs, blood loss and basically any other injury a human could sustain. She is also very susceptible to the cold as she is from a hot climate and is naturally a feverish being; cold weather or ice powers affect her more so than most other things.



Currently, her greatest weakness is a magical item known as the Orb of Myrddin. This orb was used to bind Tizmael, rendering her enslaved to whomever wields it. Since the spell itself was not directed at one given person; ANYONE who holds the Orb can command Tizmael and hold her to their service until they stop holding the Orb. Tizmael cannot destroy or even physically handle the Orb.



Origin

Tizmael was born in the pits of Hell; Masak Madvil, to a brood of thousands.  Being one of a legion, she had a lot of competition for resources,  but was clever enough to avoid death during her infantile stage by tossing her siblings to whatever predator sought them out.

Tricksters are low-bred and more often than not considered vermin. The fortunate are utilized as workers, pets, slaves or sometimes consorts to higher ranking demons. From the beginning, Tizmael stood out amongst her brood as clever and vicious;  though cowardly as most tricksters are.

Tizmael rose through obscurity till she was the top demon of her brood (at this point most of them had been killed). She was cutthroat and ambitious, but her flirtatious nature sometimes cost her as higher ranked demons were her usual targets, which often left the trickster injured or enslaved.

Eventually,  her wit and larger than life persona won her a position amidst the entourage of Morax, the Bull-beast. A powerful minotaur who had been conquering various regions of the lower planes of hell. For centuries,  Tizmael was satisfied with this existence; but this was not to last.

An amateur magician seeking a familiar, performed a summoning ritual and brought Tizmael to the mortal plane. The ritual was a success and the demon was bound to a rare artifact known as the Orb of Myrddin, to this day Tizmael still doesn't know how her would-be master got a hold of it. But that mattered little to her, as the magician was delusional and ignorant of the particulars of the binding ritual and Tizmaels nature, she manipulated and dispatched of him quickly.

Master less but bound to the mortal plane, Tizmael spent two decades trying to keep the orb from being discovered,  but inevitably it was and was taken by an unknown group. Desperate to destroy it, Tizmael sought it out and eventually  narrowed down its whereabouts to somewhere in Jump City. She has been laying low in the city, biding her time until it became possible for her to seek out the Orbs destruction once again.

Since we've barely had any posts for nearly a month, I've noticed that the RP has more or less come to a screeching halt. However, I had an idea, should any of you wish to keep it alive;

Chatbox- RP night!

Since we're all pretty busy, we take pre- determined night that we've all got off, play out a mission that Van has cooked up for the RP, and we play out the story there. Perhaps posting the results up afterwards so we can re- read it if we want. This way, we can schedule it at our convenience and finish whole missions and such in a night, taking as long or being as quick as we want.

What do you guys think? Good idea? Bad idea? Another 'Red needs to stop coming up with ideas' idea?

Tiz has the same schdule as I do, but she has food poisoning, so I don't know if she'll be available. Karm has a confusing schedule, so we have to ask her about it.
